and when i tell you that my child danced like a pro, i mean it.
complete strangers stopped us outside to compliment her. the wild woman OWNED that stage.
here are a few shots from dress rehearsal and then the big day. i have never in my life been prouder of that little munchkin. be still my heart.

now. for the big day.

oh, you know. just a little downtime on the way to the theater.

mommy & her dancer.

our little rockettes all lined up and ready to go. can you spot the wild woman?

keeping 3 and 4 year olds quiet backstage was a trip. my girl was totally on her best behavior.

OWNING THAT STAGE.

after the show with her pretty flowers.

and this is what happened around our house for the 4 hours following recital and a celebratory lunch at mcalisters.

because he's a fantastic brother like that, tom was kind enough to protect sister for the entirety of her naptime.

and just because it's precious, here's a copy of one of her official recital photos.
... it still blows my mind that i have a kiddo old enough to be dancing in a dance recital. in fact, it still blows my mind that she's not still wearing newborn diapers and swaddled in that pink minky dot blanket i loved so much.
wow.
now i've gone and made myself all sad.
but not sad enough to have another kid. let's not lose hold of reality, peeps.
xoxo ... j
